An email from Thinkers50 informed me that I had been inducted into the 2025 Thinkers50 Coaching Legends! It left me speechless (for once – ha) and deeply grateful.
The honor recognizes executive coaches who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the field of coaching and management.
When I read those words, they led me to consider three reflections:
• the trust of the leaders I coach
• the history of this profession
• the commitment to what comes next
Coaching has never been about me. It’s always been about the leaders I’ve had the privilege to work with, and the ripple effect they create within their organizations. I’m profoundly thankful to every executive who has placed their trust in me.
Over 20 years ago, I left my Fortune 100 executive role – on a wing and a prayer – to start my own Executive Coaching business. At that time, very few even knew what coaching was. To see how far the profession has come, and to be recognized among those who helped shape it, is beyond words.
Being called a Coaching Legend by Thinkers50, 100 Coaches, and BetterUp is a milestone, not a finish line. The journey to elevate leaders and organizations continues, and I’m more committed than ever to advancing leadership that makes a positive difference across the globe.
