🌟 Gamify Your Leadership Wellbeing 🌟
One of the most common concerns I hear from my C-Suite coaching clients is their struggle to commit time to self-care. They want to – and know they should – take care of themselves physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually, but they often get caught up in the demands of work and leadership responsibilities. (Maybe that sounds familiar to YOU™, too?)
Here’s a fun and effective approach I’ve developed to help clients make self-care a priority. I call it “Self-Care Black-Out Bingo!”
🎯 How It Works:
1. List Your Activities:
Start by listing 25 activities you’d love to do across various wellness categories – physical, mental, emotional, social, nutritional, intellectual, financial, environmental, and spiritual – whatever is most important to you.
Examples:
– Take a 30-minute walk (physical wellbeing)
– Spend 10 minutes in quiet contemplation (mental wellbeing)
– Listen to your favorite music (emotional wellbeing)
– Call a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while (social wellbeing)
2. Create Your Bingo Card:
Arrange these activities on a 5×5 bingo card. (If you want to, give yourself a break and include a “free” slot in the center, so that you only need 24 activities. 😉)
3. Play the Game:
Over the course of one month, once you complete an activity, cross it out. Aim to complete at least one line (vertical, horizontal, or diagonal), and of course, the ultimate goal is to achieve “black-out bingo” by completing all activities – roughly one per day.
✨ Make It More Fun: Invite your teams or family to join in so that you can play bingo together.
Self-care is absolutely essential for overall well-being and continued high-performance at work. If you’re struggling to find time for yourself, I encourage you to give “Black-Out Bingo” a try!
I’d love to hear from you: What are a few of the 24 items you would place on YOUR bingo card?
